Flatface and Friends are a dynamic blues and blues rock collective known for spirited performances, soulful melodies, and strong original music. Featuring Tim “Gweemer” Allen, Mike Farrar, Dan Cromp, and Dave Eldridge, the band brings together seasoned players with deep roots in the Central New York music scene and a shared love for the sound, grit, and energy of classic blues.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Thorogood, B.B. King, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Flatface and Friends blend blues favorites, blues rock energy, and original material into a powerful live show. Members of the group were part of Flatface and the Shemp-Dells, winners of a 2001 Syracuse Area Music Award, and have shared stages with acts including The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Commander Cody, Blackfoot, Todd Hobin, and Benny Mardones.
The band’s members have released three albums, received airplay on local stations including TK99, 95X, and 105.9, and created the theme song for TK99’s “Homegrown Radio Show.” They have also performed at major events including Taste of Syracuse, Harborfest, NYS Bluesfest, and the Anaheim Convention Center in California. With a mix of beloved classics and original tunes, Flatface and Friends keep the blues tradition alive while bringing their own road-tested sound to every stage.
